A thriving regional city with strong affiliations to state and national sporting organisations. Lismore is a thriving regional city renowned as a sporting centre with fantastic facilities, committed local clubs and strong affiliations with state and national sporting organisations.
In baseball circles, Lismore is regarded as one of the most significant regions in the country, with a reputation of nurturing and developing skilled players, providing quality facilities and running major competitions and events. Lismore has been presented with a unique opportunity to capitalise on a set of unfortunate circumstances. Recently, the Gold Coast based Palm Meadows Baseball Complex (home of Baseball Australia) closed, with Baseball Australia now looking for a new operational home.
The redesign and renewal of Albert Park will make the facility Australia’s premiere baseball complex, placing Lismore on the world stage as a High-Performance Baseball Hub. The design will allow Lismore to thrive in baseball and will, in addition, bring social and financial rewards to the city.
The master plan recommends upgrade and renovation of existing facilities, as well as incorporating new ideas such as a central community hub, playground and marquee/tent area to bring new life into the facility.
