‘The careful and considered design of these two strategically placed streets is critical towards the transformation of Ipswich CBD from a rural town center to a thriving Urban Centre with a lifestyle based night time economy.’ Vee Design are collaborating with Ipswich City Properties and a multidisciplinary consultant team to reinvent the CBD of Ipswich as the new entertainment and community heart of Ipswich.
Redevelopment of Nicholas Street and Union Place as a thriving main street and opening up to the Bremer River. Nicholas and Union Street make up the economic back bone of the Ipswich CBD Revitalisation project with the vision for them to become the cities retail, entertainment and culinary center. The design transforms an under-performing pedestrian mall into a one way , low speed shared zone to bring more movement, surveillance and accessibility to the streets.
The streets have been crafted with generous footpath space with landscape islands for people to linger whilst also providing business operators with opportunities for on-street dining. On-going Collaboration with BVN, Bornhost & Ward, Rubidium Light, Aquatic One, WSP and RLB
